Successful representation
Experience in the criminal justice system translates into favorable outcomes for our clients. Knowing when to push and when to mitigate is a skill developed over time. Familiarity with the judges, prosecutors, and court staff can have an impact on your outcome. Some of our outcomes can be viewed below.
Burglary reduced to a misdemeanor
One client was facing an allegation of burglary. That charge is a third-degree felony with up to 3 years in prison. After working the evidence and negotiations, the case was resolved with a plea to a criminal trespass, fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Complete dismissal
When law enforcement responded on a call regarding a mental health crisis, they arrest my client for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. By working the case, obtaining proper documentation, and discussions with the State, we were able to get this case completely dismissed.
OVI dismissed with suppression of evidence.
One client had gotten into a vehicle accident. Law enforcement immediately believed the driver was impaired. However, they failed to do a proper OVI investigation. We were able to get the judge to suppress evidence due to the improper investigation. The OVI was dismissed for lack of evidence.
Diversion and treatment in lieu of jail
Success is not always measured by wins and losses. Courts have access to funding and resources not always accessible to the public. Some of our clients struggle with mental health or substance abuse issues. We have been able to utilize the Court's resources to improve the lives of our clients. In many cases we can get the charges dismissed with successful completion of treatment.
